New 100G Ethernet core chassis fabric switch, SDN and multitenancy enhancements help fill out Brocade networking arsenal

Brocade’s newest network gear is intended to support cloud environments with thousands of virtual machines running within and between data centers. The offerings will undoubtedly heat up the fabric switching competition between Brocade and Cisco, HP and Juniper.

MLX server comes with OpenFlow 1.0
The MLX router, meanwhile, triples its 10G port density. With new 24-port 10G line cards, the Brocade MLX can now support up to 768 10G ports in a single chassis. The MLX also gets OpenFlow 1.0 so it can participate in OpenFlow-based software-defined networks.
